Hi, I’m July, 34 years old,
Traveler by heart and live and work all over the world. How did that come about? A long story! I quit my first permanent job as a project assistant when I was in my early twenties – one year after I completed a two-and-a-half-year apprenticeship as an event management assistant. So I spent a total of three and a half years working. After my resignation, I travelled to Thailand, Australia and South America with my backpack, a girlfriend and a working holiday visa for Australia in my pocket by around-the-world ticket.
Be on the road
Although everyone else thought I had everything to be happy, I didn’t. It bored me to go to the same office every day. Also my first own apartment was fast “everyday life”. I felt stuck and my life was predetermined. I had so many ideas in my head that I wanted to put into practice and so many things that I wanted to try out. I clearly belong to the so-called “scanner types”. They are people with many different abilities and interests. I also love variety and challenges that allow me to grow.
The decision to resign was not an easy one, because at first nobody in my environment could really understand it. But it was definitely one of the best decisions in my life.
On the journey I experienced so much and got to know so many other people with different life concepts that from then on it was really totally over with my sedentariness. Travelling simply never let me go again. Even then it was clear to me that no belongings could compensate for the feeling of traveling for me. That life is too short to be spent in one place. Not only was it fun for me to get to know new cultures, but real adventures always ensured that I stretched my comfort zone: Wreck diving in the Philippines, flying a hot-air balloon over Bagan, daring a parachute jump in Australia – I was always at the start and still am today.
